Come aboard a unique shopping experience - The Wool Boat as seen on the Channel 4 TV programme, 'Walking Through History, The Way to WIgan Pier' with Sir Tony Robinson.

“The Wool Boat” is a floating yarn shop, an exclusive knitwear boutique and photo art gallery, all within a canal narrowboat.

The Wool Boat gives you the chance to visit a canal narrow boat that cruises the canals of West Lancashire during the winter months mooring in the villages of Burscough Bridge, Parbold, Rufford and Tarleton. During the summer months the boat travels further afield, on the inland waterways on England and Wales.

Colin and Carole Wareing are inspired to design and create special items that will grace you or a friend’s wall or body giving great pleasure with exclusive style.

Carole designs garments that are hand knitted in Lancashire either by Carole or one of her team of experienced knitters, garments ranging from hats to tea cosies, Ganseys, Cardigans, anything you want can be designed and knitted.

Colin produces a range of canal, city and country side inspired photographs and greetings cards.

If you are a knitter The Wool Boat also carries a wide range of knitting yarns, wools, needles, buttons, patterns, what ever you need to create we can supply.

The Wool Boat moors as close to the centre of the villages she visits and there is usually a very handy car park.
