The Shop at Glasson Dock

'The Shop at Glasson Dock' provides a range of goods for locals and tourists alike, from basic grocery provisions to fine wines, home-made cakes and 'posh picnic' hampers filled with goodies to take out and enjoy at leisure. Select local arts and crafts are also available for sale.

Situated on the West Quay of the working dock, 'The Shop at Glasson Dock' is in an ideal location to sit and while away the time watching the world float by; the swans and ducks gliding between the boats; and eager youngsters from 9 to 90 years trying their hand at the ancient skill of crab catching, with brightly coloured crab lines, buckets and bits of bacon bought from 'The Shop at Glasson'. There's an undercover decking area with quaint seating, where a piece of cake, cup of tea or delicious made-to-order barm, can be enjoyed. Additional seating fronts 'The Shop at Glasson Dock', where cyclists, bikers and walkers can often be found resting before or after the challenges of the Lune estuary path.

Glasson Dock is a unique place to visit. With big boats delivering goods arriving from the Irish Sea; yachts gliding in from open waters to the shelter of the Lune estuary; and brightly coloured narrow boats chug their way down the locks of the Glasson Arm of the lovely Lancaster canal into the freshwater basin where the tall masts of boats moored in the marina, it's truly an amazing vista which ever way you view. The magnificent hills of the Trough of Bowland and north Pennine moors provide a beautiful backdrop to what is one of Lancashire's best hidden gems.

Cycling, walking, fishing, boating, motor biking, or just enjoying the magnificent surroundings, Glasson Dock is a treasure trove of delights, and nowhere better to enjoy them than from the deck of 'The Shop at Glasson Dock'
