Preston Guild Hall & Charter Theatre

In October 2014 Preston Guild Hall was taken out of the hands of Preston City Council and into those of a local entrepreneur Simon Rigby. It is an exciting new chapter in Preston’s entertainment scene and the venue have ambitious plans to elevate the venue and complex back to its previous status.

In addition to the programming and event developments of the 720 seater theatre and 2034 seater hall, Simon and his team have begun investing heavily in the complex. The arcade has seen additions such as restaurant Mundo Tapas, coffee shop Leaf or Bean and the cocktail and wine bar, Review. The new Villa Italian restaurant as just opened its doors in June 2016. LiVe: previously the Guild Hall foyer space has undergone a major revamp to create a brand new multifunctional space, perfect for intimate gigs, post-show drinks and dancing the night away.

The latest addition is The Terrace, located on the front balcony of the building, overlooking the City. The Terrace has three distinct areas for eating and drinking, which are connected to the Villa Italian, LiVe and Review, but it can also be opened up into one larger space. It even has a retractable roof making it a great destination whatever the weather! Preston Guild Hall’s new eatery Dogs ‘n’ Doughnuts, located above Review on The Terrace, is due to open its doors on 21 April 2017.

The developments are set to continue with more exciting plans in progress creating LeVel: A 10-pin bowling alley, a nine-hole crazy golf course, karaoke booths, a sports bar and Tex Mex diner, along with a new entrance from Lord Street are all proposed for their biggest project yet. The overall aim is to provide a hub of entertainment for the people of Lancashire. Offering something for all ages and catering to all tastes.

With its city centre location, on-site parking and links to nearby bus and rail networks, the Guild Hall Arcade is easily accessible 7 days a week. Whether you’re having lunch in one of our restaurants, a catch up over coffee or taking in a show, we’ve got it all. They offer the very best in authentic dining.
