A ram greets and enthralls visitors at the farm.

At Mrs Dowsons Farm Park they are passionate about giving their visitors the opportunity to see, touch and engage with their friendly farm animals, explore the countryside and experience a real working farm.

Explore the farm
Take in the fresh country air with a walk on our nature trail and meet some of the animals, big and small, along the way. Meet one of the latest arrivals and get up close bottle feeding some of the friendly animals before heading on an exciting tractor ride around the farm (weather permitting)  Meet the baby emus, piglets, kid goats and much more.  Visitors can enjoy the Wallaby Walk as the first wallabies to live on the farm make themselves at home.

Don’t miss the Big Barn.
The Big Barn is home to donkeys, sheep and alpacas who are waiting for you to come and feed them.

Fun activities, events and talks.
Ever wanted to know why a cow has four stomachs?  How to feed baby calves, or how to farm and conserve the fields and wildlife that call the farm home?  There are lots of different talks and activities throughout the day including talks from the real farmers.  Events include Lambing live, Big Easter Egg Hunt and the return of the popular Goat Yoga.  There is a fun play area for the young visitors.

As well as listening out for the sounds of the farm and countryside, join the farmer for a fun and educational tour of the farm. He’ll tell you all about what it’s like working on a farm, from getting up at 5am to bringing new born calves into the world on the real working farm.

Exciting things to come...

Later this year, Mrs Dowsons Farm park will be opening the brand new indoor play centre bringing brand new adventure and challenges to the farm park.

There really is so much to see at Mrs Dowsons Farm, with hundreds of animals waiting to meet you and your family. If you’re lucky enough to visit on a day when the tractor is in the fields, you’ll be able to jump on board in the trailer and see all the sights in style, farmer style.

Mrs Dowsons Farm is a real working farm which means it is always busy with so many friendly animals to care for.  You can find out exactly what it’s like to be a farmer, even muck in and help to bottle feed the lambs, feed the hungry alpaca or handle baby chicks.  It’s all in a day’s work exploring the farm.

At Mrs Dowsons, award winning ice cream is made, the Dowson way, using fresh milk from the farm dairy.  Although the ice cream kitchen is off limits due to top secret recipes, you can treat your little farmers to a fresh and delicious pot or cone in the ice cream parlour.  A variety of exciting flavours are available.  Mrs Dowsons Ice Cream is available in outlets across the north west.

Mrs Dowsons Visitor Centre and Farm opens weekends, school and bank holidays, check the website for last minute updates.

The team look forward to seeing you soon down on the farm.

'We had a wonderful day out feeding the lambs, horses, goats and rabbits. Even on a cold day it’s so good to be outside on the farm. The children loved it.' Laura, Facebook
