Lancaster Canal Cruises
Lancaster Canal Cruises operate a fleet of narrow boats and canal barges on the Lancaster Canal from a small village called Bilsborrow near Garstang.

Party Boat
The Jungle Queen is a family owned and operated party and events canal barge. Our team has been running cruises up and down the Lancaster Canal for the past 15 years and have learnt what makes a great cruise. Whether it’s a trip to view the scenery, to educate or just to party, the Jungle Queen is a venue that you’ll never forget. Our crew are friendly, helpful and aim to make it a day to remember.

‘Ever wanted to sail a canal barge?’
Here’s your chance, our captains welcome any budding sailors whatever the age. When it comes to organising your event we’ll be as involved as you want us to be. We tailor each of our private cruises to suit your individual needs. If you’d like us to decorate we will, if you need it to be a surprise, no problem. Even if you fancy something different to our standard packages, just ask and we will try our best to make it happen

Accessibility:
Boarding and disembarking the barge couldn’t be easier with wide boarding planks (equipped with hand rails), steps and a helping hand from our crew. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate wheelchairs.

Facilities:
The plush décor and spacious feel of the Jungle Queen makes it ideal for any party size up to its maximum of 47 passengers. Inside the layout is designed with a large open floor space, high ceilings and adequate seating making it comfortable for everyone. There’s easy access to both the bow and stern decks with seating and standing area on both for several passengers. Large viewing windows run down both the port and starboard sides of the barge so you can make the most of the fantastic scenery as the cruise takes you through the idyllic countryside. The barge has full central heating for the colder days, hot and cold water and modern toilets that never fail to impress.

Food and Drink:
Our licensed bar serves draught lager and bitter, a selection of quality wines, all essential spirits and soft drinks along with tea and coffee. Prices are similar to the local pubs and restaurants who we work closely with so combining a cruise and a meal is extremely easy. Alternative options include finger buffets, hot pot and BBQs; which can be pre-ordered to be provided during the cruise.

Private Cruises:
We offer a large range of private cruises with prices starting at £5 per person per hour (based on 20 or more passengers). Cruise times range from 1 to 6 hours, with our most popular cruises being 2 and 3 hours.

Scheduled Cruises:
Also in operation are our scheduled cruises running during the 3rd week in each month, on most bank holidays and main calendar events throughout the year. For detailed listings please visit our website, e-mail us or pick up a flyer from Olde Duncombe House at Bilsborrow.

Entertainment:
On board there is a state of the art media and entertainment system. If you have any specific music you want to play bring it along and we’ll pop it on, even choose your own play lists from our huge range of music and don’t worry there is something for everyone. Plasma screens are fitted along the walls for viewing presentations, photo slide shows, sporting events, DVDs and Karaoke. Fancy dress can be an entertaining feature of your cruise whether it’s just a captain’s hat or a full pirate’s outfit.

Holiday Boats
Our narrow boats can be hired for a short break or long canal holiday cruises.
Over two thousand miles of navigable inland waterways, threads their way through some of Britain’s most beautiful and ancient countryside, offering havens for wildlife and a rare insight into the nation’s industrial heritage. This network of waterways also takes you to the heart of major cities, with all the buzz and excitement that they provide.

There is nothing quite like a canal boat holiday on Britain’s Inland waterways. Friendship when you meet other boaters, or when you tie up at the pub for a drink or a meal. A holiday of contrasts, taken at a slow pace. The variety is seemingly endless with city, town, village and country, wide canal, narrow canal and river. Every bend brings you to some new feature. You can never see it all, no matter how many times you return.

Day Hire Boat
We have recently acquired a classic motor boat which can be hired out by the hour, half a day or full day. This boat seats four people and is self drive. You will get full instructions from one of our team members before you head off on the Lancaster Canal. Perfect for a day out with friends or family or a romantic sunset cruise, bring a picnic or why not stop off for some lunch at a canal side pub. If you are looking for something fun to do with the family or something different to do with friends give us a call and book ‘Damselbug’. Available for hire all year round.
