Stonefold Farm, Newton in Bowland

This 16th century farmhouse has been lovingly converted into a family home and luxury self-catering holiday cottage.

Surrounded by open moorland in the beautiful Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the cottage has spectacular views over the Hodder Valley and beyond to the Three Peaks. An ideal base for walking and bird watching. we have a multitude of wildlife including buzzards, lapwings, short eared owls, curlews, snipe, hen harriers and brown hares all on their doorstep.

The warm and comfortable cottage retains many original features including flagged floors and exposed beams.

Comfortably sleeping five the cottage includes a spacious open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area and a ground floor twin bedroom and shower/wet room making the cottage is ideal for disabled guests or those who find stairs difficult.

The large double bedroom with en-suite looks out across the moor and a single bedroom with velux window had an incredible view of the valley below.

For those interested in cycling and mountain biking; Gisburn Forest mountain bike trails are only a short drive away and road cyclists will be spoilt for choice with many scenic and challenging routes. They are able to safely store all bikes and equipment.

Clitheroe boasts a Norman castle, a busy market, great selection of shops and local food and is a short 15 minute drive away.

Further afield a trip through the stunning Trough of Bowland will bring you to the historic town of Lancaster within.

The cottage is an ideal base to enjoy the beautiful Bowland forest with its wildlife, walks and excellent locally produced food. They are also within easy reach of the M6, south lakes, Blackpool and the Yorkshire Dales.

If you are looking to get away from it all and enjoy a relaxing holiday in an idyllic and peaceful setting then this is the place for you!
