Merok Lodge is an apartment attached to a dormer bungalow and has been carefully designed to give comfortable modern living. We are tucked away in a quiet corner of Little Eccleston, a 10 minute walk from Great Eccleston and 3 minutes from the River Wyre.
The accommodation has a spacious drive for parking. The ground floor is south west facing in a pleasant rural aspect. The price includes all heating with radiators in all rooms, electricity and WiFi. The Lodge is double glazed and insulated to the latest spec..
The side entrance, with security lights, opens into the living quarters of lounge / dining / kitchen. The lounge has French doors opening on to decking and garden for your enjoyment. In the lounge there is a flat screen TV with free view and DVD player. The flooring is wood throughout with loose rugs and tiled in the bathroom. The kitchen area comprises fitted cupboards with dish washer, double drainer sink, electric cooker, fridge, toaster and microwave.
A washing machine and dryer are available in attached utility area along with freezer. The bathroom is large and fully tiled with Jacuzzi bath, shower cubicle, wash basin with cupboard unit, a storage cupboard with mop, bucket, Cooper battery sweeper, extra stools and blanket.
The twin bedded room which can be made into a single Super King Size bed, if required, is fitted with Sharps furniture. There is a flat screen TV with DVD incorporated. The comfortable twin / Super King is comfortable. Available is a hairdryer, safe, alarm clock, long mirror in the wardrobe with plenty of hanging space. There is a cupboard which houses the ironing board and iron, plus clothes rack and fan heater.
All bed linen and towels; tea towels are included. They are able to accommodate one small child provided they share a bedroom.
From the Lodge front door you can walk to the River Wyre, visit the Cartford Hotel and Restaurant, fish in small lake to rear of the property, enjoy many walks, cycle through the country lanes and use local transport to most areas of the Fylde and Wyre.
Local attractions include Great Eccleston Agricultural Show and Tractor Pull, a cricket club and Crown Green Bowls where visitors are welcome. There is also a children's fun day in August and a Christmas Market in early December.
Great Eccleston village provides most of your needs, with good eating establishments (fish and chip shop; Jahan's Indian Cuisine; White Bull for tasty pub food; the Black Bull; the Courtyard Cafe and the popular Farmers Arms Restaurant). The village centre in the square offers a welcome to all (coffee and IT facilities).
Local shops provide fresh fruit and vegetables; nail and massage studio; ladies and gents dress shop; barbers, three hairdressers; post office; a bakers shop for fresh break and cakes; off licence / newsagent; butchers and supermarket.
There is a doctors surgery, clinic and NHS dentist in Great Eccleston village. We are in easy reach of the Trough and Forest of Bowland, the Lake District, Lytham St Anne's, Blackpool, Preston (ideal for UCLAN) , and Lancaster (ideal for Lancaster University).
There are several golf courses in the area of which the main ones are in Garstang, Blackpool and Lytham St Anne's.
Several local weekly markets take place in Poulton le Fylde on Monday's, Great Eccleston on Wednesdays, Garstang on Thursdays.
There are cinemas in Blackpool, Cleveleys and Preston.
Ribby Hall is a fifteen minute drive for most sporting activities.

From M6 motorway take M55 for Blackpool. Turn off M55 at first junction, sign posted for Fleetwood and Kirkham. Take the right hand lane going round the roundabout to cross the motorway and continue along the A585. Pass the Shell garage on your right. Stay on this road until you come to a set of traffic lights. Turn right signed M6, Lancaster A6, Garstang and Great Eccleston. Continue along this road. The road widens into three lanes and climbs a hill. At the top of the hill there is a green telephone box and a sign for Pilling to the left. Turn here onto Blackpool Old Road. At the next junction (only a short distance) turn left onto Cartford Lane. We are situated on the left, a white dormer bungalow, tucked in the corner. There is a bench seat immediately outside Merok Lodge. Drive in and park in the visitor’s space.
Bus/coach to Preston: most national bus lines go to Preston. There are good connections to Little Eccleston on bus number 80 or 82. From Little Eccleston bus stop you cross the main road and walk down Blackpool Old Road, taking the first left on to Cartford Lane. Merok Lodge is situated on the left at the first right angle bend on Cartford Lane.By rail to Preston: then change to get the Blackpool train which must stop at Poulton le Fylde. When getting off the train at Poulton le Fylde you have two choices. Either hire a taxi or get a bus number 42, 80 or 82 to Little Eccleston. When you get off the bus, you walk down Blackpool Old Road, which is directly at the right side of you. You then take the first left down Cartford Lane and Merok Lodge is situated on the left at the first right angle bend.
