Explore the locality: Forest of Bowland, historic Lancaster, the market towns of Garstang and Kirby Lonsdale. Further afield Kendal and the South Lakes (approx 30 mins by car), Ingleton with caves and waterfalls and on to the Dales of Yorkshire.

There are two routes which avoid the busy city centre traffic: Junction 34, M6 Come off the M6 motorway at Junction 34, take the A683 (east) signposted Caton, Kirby Lonsdale. Approximately after 2 miles you enter Caton Village, take the first right signed Quernmore 31/2 mile. After approximately 2 miles take a left signed Quernmore 2 miles. Stay on this road, past a church and small primary school until you approach a stop sign at the crossroads. Turn right ( signed Lancaster), Cottages are 400 yards on the right. Junction 33, M6 Come off the M6 motorway at Junction 33, as you approach the roundabout take the first exit left, then take an immediate left approximately 20 yards. This takes you over the M6 motorway to a T-junction. Turn right at the junction and after 1/2 a mile take the left turn signed Quernmore 4 miles. Carry along this road until you come to a stop sign at the crossroads ( approximately 4 miles). Turn left ( signed Lancaster), Cottages are 400 yards on the right.
