Bluebells Lytham

Well furnished apartments situated in the small Leafy town of Lytham on the Fylde Coast of Lancashire. Ideally placed just a few minutes walk from the centre where you will find a great selection of bars and restaurants.

Lytham has a famous green with the windmill, which is open during the summer months. There are also 3 golf courses nearby and an award winning Park with childrens paly area, BMX race track, swings, roundabouts slides and a nice café. The Lowther Gardens is also very close, this has a small theatre, a bowling green, crazy golf and rose gardens.

If you want venture a little further, Blackpool is only a few miles away. The illuminations are on throughout September and October and are truly spectacular to see. The world renowned golden sands are now a blue………………….. beach. You will find a great choice of walks from the house. You can walk along the promenade, south along the estuary where you can see Southport across the water and watch the sailing boats going out with the tide. There is a long tradition of shrimping here, there is a lovely statue in Lowther Gardens of a Lytham shrimper. Walking north along the promenade towards St. Annes you pass Fairhaven Lake where you can hire a boat and picnic on the grass here there is a Spitfire plane, a good photo opportunity. Carrying on towards St. Annes and the pier there are lots of places to see, a life size statue of Les Dawson for example, and miles of beach where they hold sand yacht competitions and spectacular kite exhibitions. You can carry on as far as you want, Blackpool is a few miles down the road. On another walk there is a lovely wood, Witchwood, where the witch is buried. See if you can find her grave. She was the favourite horse of Squire Clifton who lived at Lytham Hall. Lytham Hall is another nice place to visit, there are regular open air plays and other entertainments. There is a good café with home made food and great walks around the grounds. It’s beautiful at snowdrop and bluebell time.

At the beginning of August the town is packed for the Lytham Festival this can be easily reached just a 5 minute walk. Following on from that is the WW2 weekend when folks from all over dress in 40s clothes. The shops all join in too with vintage window displays. On Lytham Green over the weekend there are amazing displays and processions with tanks and jeeps. There are camps with demonstrations of how it was behind the lines, all very authentic and interesting.
