fire place

We welcome you to The Royal Oak pub situated in Riley Green, Hoghton. There is a beautiful backdrop of the Pennines, with open log fires to keep you cosy in the winter months and a child friendly beer garden for alfresco dining in summer, we are an all year round traditional pub.

The food is prepared with the ethos of quality and consistency, with an emphasis on fresh produce from our local suppliers.

Thwaites finest cask ales are available plus a weekly cask from micro brewers also features at our bar to suit any pallet.  Our wine is served by the glass or bottle and very popular with the regular visitors is our wine of the week offer.

We welcome families, groups of friends, walkers (including their four legged friends), cyclists, business colleagues out for a business lunch or an after work drink.  We are happy to take pre orders for food if you are in a hurry or plan on working up an appetite on a local hike or cycle and would like your meal ready and waiting upon your arrival.

With various cycle routes and walking trails the area is popular with groups of adventurists.  We are happy to be your meeting point and can accommodate groups of most sizes.  If you are great in number you are more than welcome but please just let us know you are coming.

With plenty of local attractions close by we feel sure we can set you up with a warming hearty meal to fuel your day or offer you a relaxing wind down with high quality food and drinks in a picturesque country pub setting.
