The Red Pump Inn

If you’re looking for the best steak in the region head for the Red Pump Inn, which serves beef supplied by some of the region’s finest butchers.

Jonathan and Fran Gledhill, who took over the Red Pump at Bashall Eaves in 2015, are forging a reputation for serving provincial style dishes featuring premium ingredients –with seriously good steak their speciality! Jonathan and Head Chef Neal Waterfield work hard to produce menus which constantly change to reflect both seasonal and local produce.

Native Longhorn, Shorthorn and Galloway cattle mature slowly, developing a wonderful flavour as they graze on a natural diet of grass and hay, and dry aged often to over 40 days to provide the eating quality they demand.

The variety of steaks on offer include Fillet, Sirloin, Rump, Rib-eye, Picanha (a speciality rump cut popular in Argentina) and their signature steak – the Prime Rib cooked on the bone. In addition however to creating a unique niche for steak lovers the Red Pump menu offers a delight for all foodies who just love down-to-earth flavoursome dishes cooked exceptionally well using quality top ingredients.

Typical dishes might include Goosnargh Chicken in Cider, Pork Shank Cassoulet with Chorizo, Pan Fried Hake with Lobster Sauce, Roasted Pumpkin and Pine nut Risotto.

Stay at The Red Pump Inn …
'
We are motivated by the love for what we do and the quality of the product we provide,' says Fran with a warm and heartfelt welcome.  This elegantly rural yet traditional Inn now offers a choice of accommodation - from 8 luxury French-inspired boutique bed & breakfast rooms to glamping yurts and shepherd huts (new for 2021!).

Recommended by Sawday's Secret Places and the Good Pub Guide, it’s the perfect place for a night away in the heart of the Lancashire countryside.
