Chicken with potatoes

There’s a truly passionate team behind The Oyster & Otter. It’s part of a small, independent Lancashire business that ‘lives and breathes’ fine food.

Easy access from Blackburn, Preston, Manchester and the Ribble Valley is just one of the virtues of this Best North West Food Pub winner in the Great British Pub Awards.

It’s not just the family’s 40 years of experience … or Chris Neve’s freshest daily catches from Fleetwood … or executive chef Antony Shirley’s straightforward and uncomplicated approach to food.

It’s the whole concept of a modern pub mixed with the highest quality locally sourced food that can be on the plate within hours of being caught.

But it’s by no means exclusively  ‘same day’ seafood – there are signature meat, poultry and game dishes from the best Lancashire suppliers such as family friends Johnson and Swarbrick for poultry and Gazegill Organics for pork and lamb.

The Oyster & Otter’s ‘New England’ style wood-planked walls and decking leads into a stylish open plan interior with bright contemporary décor. This neighbourhood restaurant and bar, with live music and entertainment nights, private function facilities and a takeaway service is a convenient two minutes from the M65 junction 3 making it the ideal place for business meetings, social occasions, private dining and family functions

Open Monday to Thursday 12 noon - 11pm; Friday to Saturday 12 noon – midnight; Sunday 12 noon - 10.30pm. For food service times please see the website.

The Seafood Pub Company operates The Farmers Arms along with the Oyster & Otter at Blackburn, The Assheton Arms at Downham and The Fenwick at Claughton near Lancaster – all of which have private dining facilities that are available for business and family functions from corporate events to romantic wedding receptions in some of the north west’s most atmospheric country pubs.
