The Golden Ball of Longton is a beautiful dining pub in the heart of the village of Longton, dedicated to providing fresh, local Lancashire produce for all. Est. 1822.
The pub has undergone a dramatic refurb and serves great British food and a wide selection of gins and cask ales since Chris Buckley & Rebekah O’Connell took over in August 2017.
Winners of the 2019 and 2021 Dog Friendly Business of the Year Award (Lancashire Tourism Awards) dog beds are available, as well as water bowls and a dedicated dog menu, where your pooch can choose from beef, chicken or sausages served with vegetables, potatoes and gravy. A free monthly dog walk takes place every third Sunday of the month, starting at the pub 10:00.
Choose to dine inside with the comforts of the real log fire in winter, outside where you can soak in the sun, the terrace or dine under the teepee.
The teepee is available all year round with heaters and blankets on hand for colder nights. You'll be cosy even when the sun goes down.
The Golden Ball is open Monday to Sunday from 12:00 and serve food all day.
Make a day of it and enjoy a walk around the Brickcroft Nature Reserve or along the Ribble Way, before heading back to this dog friendly pub. Maps of both walks can be found on the website.
Hire the teepee
A teepee and Garden Room are both available to hire for christenings, birthdays, get-togethers, wedding breakfast, works meetings or wakes. Hire the space exclusively. Your own private area to enjoy. Available with drinks receptions and buffet or pizza menu options, this can be tailored to your needs. Buffet menus are available on the website but if you prefer anything specific please feel free to get in contact to discuss.
