The Golden Ball of Longton

The Golden Ball of Longton is a beautiful dining pub in the heart of the village of Longton, dedicated to providing fresh, local Lancashire produce for all.  - Est. 1822 -

Open: Wednesday - Sunday 12 noon - 10pm

Food Served: Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 8pm

The pub has undergone a dramatic refurb and serves great British food and a wide selection of gins and cask ales since Chris Buckley & Rebekah O’Connell took over in August 2017.

Winners of our most recent Dog Friendly Business of the Year Award they have dog beds available, water bowls as well as a dedicated dog menu - where your pooch can choose from beef, fish or chicken served with vegetables, potatoes and gravy. They also run free monthly dog walks every 3rd Sunday of the month starting at the pub 10am.

Choose to dine inside with the comforts of the real log fire in winter or outside you can soak in the sun or the terrace or dine under the teepee.

The teepee is available all year round with heaters and blankets on hand for colder nights, you'll be cosy even when the sun goes down.

The Golden Ball is open Wednesday - Sunday with the main menu running throughout, they also run a 2 courses for £10 menu Wednesday - Saturday until 6pm, Wood Fired Pizza’s on Friday evenings from 4pm and Overnight Braised Lancashire Beef or Roast Chicken Roasts every Sunday. Plus Louisiana style smoker coming soon to Thursday evenings.

Make a day of it and enjoy a walk around the Brickcroft Nature Reserve or along the Ribble Way before heading back to this dog friendly pub. Maps of both walks can be found on their website.

Hire the Teepee

Our teepee is now available to hire - Christenings, Birthdays, Get-togethers, wedding breakfast, works meetings. Hire the space exclusively - your own private area to enjoy. We will do the rest.

Available with drinks receptions & buffet or pizza menu options - we can tailor it to your needs. More details here on our Teepee Page.
