Little Simpsons Tea Room

Perfectly situated on a quiet country lane just off the main road running through the village of Hambleton in the Lancashire district of Over Wyre sits Little Simpsons Tea Room. Newly opened in August 2019 by Carol and Tim, it is the ideal backdrop for breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea.  A place where the countryside rolls away while you relax in the family run tea room offering freshly prepared, home cooked food.

Drop by after a refreshing walk with your dog (there’s always a doggy biscuit waiting to give the pooch customers), near the end of your cycle ride for a well earned break, whilst walking and discovering the Wyre Way or meeting up with friends and family, there’s always a great, cosy atmosphere and a warm, friendly welcome from all the tea room staff.

Sit in front of the roaring fire in winter enjoying your choice of carefully selected tea, coffee or hot chocolate or, in summer, why not while away your time and sit outside in the sunshine on the lawned seating area and enjoy a fruit tea, milk shake, a selection of Fentimans soft drinks, a little tipple of wine or a delicious cocktail as the tea room is fully licensed.  Wherever you choose it is guaranteed you’ll always enjoy your visit!

Why not compliment your choice of beverage with a slice of homemade cake, traybake slices or one of our selections of gorgeous cheesecakes. Simpsons scones, plain or blueberry, are freshly baked every morning and are served with butter, jam or why not indulge in jam and clotted cream.

There’s a varied menu to tempt you at Little Simpsons including their popular Great Simpsons Breakfast with a homemade hash brown or something a little more delicate such as toasted fruit loaf with marmalade or wholesome porridge served with fruit, double cream and
a choice of Hambleton honey or maple or golden syrup.

Lunches of their traditional Lancashire cheese and onion pie, made with Dewlay Lancashire crumbly and to Carol’s mother’s recipe is served with 3 times cooked chips for that crunch, with a soft inside and a pot of chutney. Or taste the Simpson burger, locally sourced, served with the triple cooked chips and relish or choose to top it with delicious smoked Monterey Jack cheese.  If something lighter is what you’re looking for then the homemade soup, omelettes, baked potato or barmcakes with various fillings may be just what you’re after.  Be tempted by the daily specials board where there’s always more choice for breakfasts such as the Little Simpsons twist on Benedict served on their breakfast hash brown or, for lunch selections, loaded nachos with chilli con carne or BBQ spare ribs with roasted corn on the cob, chips and salad.

Afternoon tea from 14:00 is already a firm favourite so booking is always recommended to ensure you’re not disappointed!  Three tiers of  decadence: a choice of four sandwiches: ham and mustard, smoked salmon, egg mayonnaise and cress and cream cheese with cucumber
and a mini pastry of cheese, onion and mayonnaise. A second tier of mini scones, plain and blueberry, served with the very best strawberry jam and clotted cream and a top tier of miniature pastry boat with orange, blackcurrant or passionfruit curd cream and raspberries, homemade brownie and one of the most delicious gorgeous cheesecakes.

Vegetarian, gluten free or dairy free, Little Simpsons will always try their hardest to accommodate any dietary requirements and usually succeed!

Facilities are of the highest standard: don’t miss the toilets which have had their own mention on Little Simpsons Facebook page!

All customers are welcomed and catered for. There is a covered area for cycles and motorbikes so no wet bike seats! The tea room is fully accessible inside and out for wheelchair users. There are four disabled parking bays directly next to the tea room with a ramp onto the footpath, extra wide doors for ease of access and the tea room itself is spacious enough to fit wheelchairs or prams at the tables. Carol can use British Sign Language and enjoys a chat!

The Natter Shack scheme is held at the tea rooms every Monday morning 10:00 until 11:00. This scheme actively encourages people of all ages to come together for a cuppa and a chat and to meet new friends.  So if you’re new to the area, living alone, have young children or just generally want to get out and meet more people Little Simpsons Natter Shack is for you.
