Stone Mouse Cottage

Stone Mouse Cottage is in the perfect place to relax and enjoy quality time together in the beautiful location of Harrop Fold - a small rural hamlet within the Forest of Bowland, an area of outstanding natural beauty. One of The Ribble Valley's best kept secrets.

Stone Mouse Cottage offers an open plan living space with a mix of traditional and modern features from the log burner in the lovingly created stone fire place carved with the creature that belies the cottage‘s name, to the large sliding windows which open out onto an impressive decking area with views across the garden and to fields beyond where our sheep and cattle graze.

The kitchen comes equipped with all the essentials including a dishwasher, washing machine and separate tumble dryer. Ironing facilities are also provided. The radio/CD player has iPod connectivity so you don‘t even need to leave your favourite songs/tunes at home.

Oak doors lead you to the two attractive bedrooms. The first king-sized double has the benefit of an en-suite shower room. The second with views to the fell has two single beds which can be zipped together to make a super king. This room also has its own TV with DVD player and large modern bathroom although not en-suite. Both rooms have a hair dryer and towels/linen are provided free of charge.

It is a working farm and in spring you are welcome see their lambs or enjoy the walks round the280 acres of land, where at its highest point you have a wonderful panorama towards Pen-y-Ghent, Ingleborough and Whernside.

Wildlife such as sika deer, hares, snipe, curlew, buzzard and sparrow hawk are attracted to the farm by its natural meadows, open pasture and dry stone walls.

If you wish to bring your own bikes or hire them locally we have provisions for undercover storage . You can take to the quiet country lanes straight from your doorstep or travel to Gisburn Forest which is popular with families and the more adventurous adrenaline junkies of you!

You can make your holiday as exciting as you wish or just relax and enjoy where you are – there’s something for everyone.
