Comfortable, welcoming wooden lodges in a tranquil setting on the edge of the Forest of Bowland – “An area of Outstanding Natural Beauty”

Bowland Lakes is the perfect location for any break or holiday. Beautiful relaxing surroundings offer everything you need to unwind. Our location provides many local attractions to visit as our outstanding lodges are situated within a half hour drive from the Lake District & Blackpool and with easy access to many other locations. Laying next to the Trough of Bowland & the Forest of Bowland you have endless opportunities for walking, cycling and sightseeing in the beautiful countryside.

Accommodation comprises of four main lodges each can accommodate up to four guests occupying a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, one smaller lodge which can accommodate up to 3 guests occupying one family bedroom with a double and a single bed and two basic camping pods.

The four main lodges all have an en-suite shower to the double bedroom, a bathroom, large living/dining area and a fully fitted kitchen. The lodges feature an electric oven and gas hob, Freeview Digital television in the livng room (only), central heating throughout, garden / patio for guests' use. Bedding, towels and utilities are incuded in the price.

All the main lodges are situated on the bank of the lake named Swanbrook with a fishing platform to the front of each lodge.

The smaller lodge named Lakeside has a toilet & shower and living/dining/kitchen space and is also situated on the bank of Swanbrook lake with a fishing peg immediately outside the door.

The camping pods are a basic insulated wooden structure with electric light, power sockets and a small heater. 

They offer a minimum two night stay in all the lodges and the prices include all bedding and towels and utilities. Midweek breaks, weekly breaks and longer stays are also available.

Pets are welcome and additional charges apply.

Please note coarse fishing is available next to each lodge and on site and additional charges apply of £6 per person (fishing 1 x rod) on any of the coarse ponds. 

(All anglers must hold a valid environment agency rod licence).

Children are welcome but extra care must be taken due to the large expanse of water in the grounds.

Located just off the A6 at Forton, close to junction 33 of the M6, and just 6 miles south of the historic city of Lancaster with the majestic Bowland Fells to the east.

Public Transport Directions

Buses no. 40 or 41 Lancaster to Preston or no. 42 Lancaster to Blackpool run within a couple of miles from Cleveley Bridge.
