Add Coal Clough Windfarm to your Itinerary

Coal Clough Windfarm
Coal Clough is one of the oldest windfarms in operation in the UK.
The windfarm is currently being reformed and 8 brand new wind turbines are being installed, up-graded site access from Long Causeway and new or up-graded access tracks within the site. It is situated near Burnley in the Parish of Cliviger, near Coal Clough Farm, on the edge of Stiperden Moor in the South Pennines.

The windfarm generates enough power each year to supply electricity to 6,000 homes. The farm has public footpath crossing the site so that visitors can see for themselves renewable energy in action.
Walk three of the ‘Burnley Way’ takes you along the Lang Causeway past Coal Clough Windfarm to the edge of the Cliviger Gorge. The limestone glacial deposits and old hushing around the area have led to old records of rare plant species.
