      (30 July 2009 - 2 August 2009) This attracts the Worlds Top Women Golfers to the area. The Event will take place at Royal Lytham and St Annes Golf Club.

    • Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival

      Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival

      (28 - 31 Aug) An internationally renowned festival that attracts music fans from all over the country, Colne boasts over 1,000 artists over four days in venues and events covering and involving the whole town.

      Blackpool Illuminations

      (4 September - 8 November 2009) Blackpool Illuminations are considered to be the greatest free light show on earth, which entertains millions of visitors between September and November time each year.

      (5th - 13th September 2009) There are many walks which take in the area's fascinating past, including the Walking With Witches Walk. There's a lot of lovely walks so why not come and join us!

    • CEV European Championship Tour Beach Volleyball

      CEV European Championship Tour Beach Volleyball

      (10 -13 September 2009) The exciting event will take place on purpose-built competition courts on Blackpool's newly reconstructed St Chads Headland, on the promenade against the backdrop of Blackpool’s world-famous Illuminations.

    • World Fireworks Championships

      World Fireworks Championships

      (6th September - 2nd October) Top firework companies from around the globe will be invited to stage pyrotechnical displays, bringing an International flavour to Central Promenade during the opening weeks of Blackpool's World Famous Illuminations season.

    • Heritage Open Days

      Heritage Open Days

      (10th - 13th September) Heritage Open Days celebrates England's fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or normally charge for admission.
