Home > What's on in Lancashire and Blackpool > Heritage Open Days - Burnley
Come along and join us from the 11th – 14th September as Burnley take part in the biggest free celebration of England’s architecture, history and culture. Heritage Open Days have become a very important part of the heritage calendar giving access for everyone to England’s rich and diverse culture heritage. Properties that are either not usually open, or would normally charge an entrance fee open their doors for free and events are organised especially for this weekend.
In Burnley, Heritage Open Days is now a well-established part of the events calendar. Every year not only do we give you the chance to visit some of our best attractions for free but we also try to bring you something new. In 2008 you can enjoy the centenary celebrations at St. Cuthbert’s Church in Burnley; join a night-time walk to discover ‘invisible art’ – part of the Big Art Project; find out how the water you drink gets to you taps at the United Utilities Treatment Plant or visit St. Leonard’s Church in Padiham after their refurbishment.
Take a look at all the different events on offer this weekend; no matter hat you choose to do you will have a great time out and about in Burnley
