Ripper’s REVENGE!

One of Lancashire’s top tourist attractions - Botany Bay, will receive a fear infusion this Halloween, when ‘scare entertainment’ producers AtmosFEAR! Scare Attractions move in to create ‘Ripper’s REVENGE!’- a live action theatrical walk through horror experience, in which the audience will come face to face with Jack the Ripper himself…

Following on from last year’s hugely popular ‘Ghost Encounter LIVE’, which was hosted at Botany Bay’s sister site Bygone Times, producers have been invited to imagineer an attraction themed around the legends of old London town, to be set in the historic building just off the M61. Creepy characters from fact and fiction will merge to create a spooktacular blend of history and horror when the attraction opens for the Halloween season.

Show Producer Janet Baron said “We have mixed a little history, a lot of horror and a huge amount of artistic license to make ‘Ripper’s REVENGE!’- it will be an experience not to be forgotten and will have you laughing one minute, and screaming the next!”

‘Ripper’s REVENGE!’ will be directed by Jason Karl, well known local television presenter and author whose name is synonymous with all things ‘scary’, he said “this is the first time we have mixed historical characters from fact and fiction in an attraction, with ‘Sweeney Todd’, and ‘Dr Hyde’ lurking in the shadows, audiences can be sure they will have a scream this Halloween!”.

Set on the ground floor of Botany Bay, the venue will be transformed into a theatrical version of ‘Old London Town’ where rogues from fact and fiction walk the fog filled alleyways and frightful fun lurks around every corner!

Audiences will walk through the guided experience, where they will encounter lighting, sound and tactile effects including strobes, theatrical smoke and live scareactors as they make their way to the ‘dead end’ where a certain man in black awaits them! Those of a nervous disposition are advised not to enter the attraction, while children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult!

‘Ripper’s REVENGE!’ at Botany Bay will open on four nights over Halloween 2008 - Friday 24th, Saturday 25th, Thursday 30th and Friday 31st October, from 6.30pm – 10.30pm. Tickets are £10 per person. Get your tickets now for a ‘slashing’ time this Halloween!
