Home / Latest news from Lancashire and Blackpool / Barton Grange opened its new Garden Centre
Barton Grange has opened its new Garden Centre at Brock, near Preston, and the Marina will be open by the summer.
Just a few minutes north of its existing site at Barton, the new Barton Grange is part of a 52-acre site at the foot of the Trough of Bowland, surrounded by some of Lancashire's most beautiful countryside.
Skirted by the Lancaster Canal and dissected by the River Brock, the site is set to be a major destination centre in the North West.
As well as the Garden Centre, Barton Grange is creating a new eighty berth marina on the canal-side, with full facilities, and developing a Garden Park. Planted with creativity and imagination, yet sensitively enough to blend with the natural environment, the Garden Park will be home to a massive variety of plant species and wildlife habitats, and is expected to attract visitors throughout the year.
Phase Two will see a chandlery, a second, separate restaurant and a crazy golf course added to the site.
Barton Grange Brock will be an exciting place which is alive and buzzing through all seasons. While sunnier days can offer a riverside walk, a stroll through the garden park, a look at the boats and a round of crazy golf; damper days can still offer a day out as the whole of the outside display area has a retractable rain and wind canopy.
The Garden Centre itself is truly stunning. With over 9000m2 of retail space, a 450 seater restaurant, the retractable roof and a Farm Shop, it will offer the ultimate in garden centre retailing.
Here, customers can sit alongside a beautiful river, feasting on gastronomic delights, while contemplating a further dose of retail therapy in a blooming horticultural wonderland. The impressive range of plants and all things gardening is complemented by an outstanding mix of gifts, craft and clothing.
One of the flagship departments is the Farm Shop. Offering a unique blend of Lancastrian fare and selected fine foods from the UK and Europe, and complete with its own butcher and bakery, the Shop adds an extra dimension to this already diverse and ambitious site.
Ideal for group visits, the site offers dedicated coach parking and central set-down and pick up points. The restaurant can offer set lunches and a separate dining area for groups if required.
The new Barton Grange Garden Centre will continue to provide the now firmly established Barton Grange welcome and naturally, friendly service, which is synonymous with this long-established, family-run business.
