Clitheroe Castle Museum will be closed from 1st July 2007 – Spring 2009 due to major re-furbishment and re-development. Keep up to date by checking out www.ribblevalley.gov.uk.
A £3.2 MILLION scheme to turn Clitheroe Castle into a premier all-weather visitor attraction is now underway after receiving a massive boost from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
The ambitious scheme, which is the biggest heritage project in Ribble Valley's history, will position Clitheroe Castle and Museum as a central part of the North West's leisure and heritage experience.
The scheme will see a glass atrium linking the museum and North West Sound Archives buildings on two levels, with a lift, facilities for the disabled, café, exhibition space, retail area and innovative interactive display facilities.
