The Fylde International Backpackers

Welcome to The Fylde, Blackpool’s first accredited Backpackers Hostel. Blackpool is one of the most visited seaside resorts in the UK; so finding accommodation to suit your needs can be difficult. The word hostel sometimes deters people but rest assured we provide our guests with quality clean and comfortable accommodation at budget prices. We aim to provide you with the perfect base for you to explore the resort and surrounding areas. Centrally located in Blackpool we are near to all of the main attractions, Winter Gardens, town centre and promenade. We have a 4 star Backpackers Hostel rating with Visit Britain and have spent the last few months making The Fylde more comfortable. We aim to provide an informal environment catering for couples, families, walkers and cyclists, school groups, international backpackers and business travellers. We do cater for specialist and sports groups; unfortunately we do not offer accommodation for Stag or Hen groups or single sex parties. All of our rooms are private rooms offering ensuites, Flatscreen Freeview TV and tea and coffee making facilities.

We are family run and offer a high standard of accommodation, spacious sun lounge and Basement Games Room and Dining Room. We aim to provide a homely environment to our guests offering free internet and WIFI. Our laid back environment allows you to make the most of the facilities such as a self catering area with combination microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge in the Dining Room, free tea, coffee, cappuccino and hot chocolate throughout the day, and the freedom to bring in your own food and drink. Even though we are licensed we encourage our guests to bring their own drinks with them. We provide a full hearty breakfast to get you started throughout the day. We aim to offer an ideal base for our guests to meet new people and relax after a day or night exploring Blackpool and its surrounding area.

The Fylde was originally the Vicarage for the church on Park Road and was built in 1895. Please note some of the rooms may be smaller than others but still offer the same facilities. This is the main reason we have invested a lot of time providing public areas for you to spend your time in. The Basement now offers an extended Games Room with full sized Pool table, games machines and many table top games. It is an ideal environment for the family to chill out with children.

We cater for walkers and cyclists at the Fylde. We can offer a secure lockable indoor store for bicycles, walking boots and outdoor clothing. We have an area to dry outdoor clothing and facilities for service washes. Early breakfast and Packed Breakfast can be arranged. We also offer a Packed lunch facility at an additional charge. Local information, walking guides of the area, weather updates and local transport information are available for your use.

Interconnecting Rooms - We offer 3 interconnecting rooms which are ideal for families. They have a double room and either a bunk bed room or a twin room with an interconnecting door next door. This allows families and groups of four that little extra space and privacy.

Car Parking - We do have car parking space and we can provide parking for 6 for cars. This works on a first come first serve basis so is not guaranteed. Cars are parked at the guests’ discretion and as the space is limited, guests may have to move their cars each morning to prevent people getting blocked in due to the shape of the car park. Should you want the freedom to use your car as and when you please the nearest car park (Palatine Road Car Park) is located at the bottom of the street. The hotel car parking is an added service and free of charge throughout your stay.

Checking In and Out - We aim to have your room ready for your arrival. Check in time is at 14.00pm. If for any reason your rooms are not ready then you are welcome to use the hotel facilities and leave your luggage with us. Checking out is slightly different! We ask you to vacate your rooms at 11.00am, and once again you are free to use all the hotel facilities until you depart. We can provide you with courtesy facilities should you have a late train, coach or flight. Please ask us if you require a late check out room.

Smoking - Our hotel is NON SMOKING. We provide a smoke free environment for all of our guests and ask for you to respect our policies. If you do smoke there is comfortable seating outside to the front of the hotel.

Access - All guests are issued with a room key and front door key on arrival. This gives you the flexibility to come and go as you please throughout your stay.
