Harrop Fold, set in a recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a tiny hamlet with a history dating back to the 12thC. Within Harrop Fold are a few cottages and farmsteads and its very own chapel, surrounded by fells. Gentle renovation has preserved the character of this ancient hamlet whilst introducing the necessities of today. The result is a well balanced community with a deep love of “The Fold”.

Served by an excellent approach road, Harrop Fold, formerly in the West Riding of Yorkshire, is 3 miles from the attractive villages of Slaidburn, Bolton by Bowland and Grindleton, and 7 miles from Clitheroe, a country market town in the Ribble valley, within easy reach of the M6 motorway.

Harrop Fold was awarded first prize in the competition for the Best Kept Hamlet in Lancashire during 2002, 2003 and 2004.

The Bradley family built Bradley House, The Old Granary and Manor House Cottage in the years between 1650 and 1800, once major landowners in the area and ancestors of the present owner.

There are 4 cottages within this accommodation. The Old Granary sleeps 2, . Manor House Cottage can sleep 3, Bradley House sleeps up to four persons and Manor House sleeps up to 5. All the accommodation is well appointed, with relaxing sitting rooms, exposed beams, colour TVs and well equipped kitchens.

Harrop Fold is the ideal location from which to explore the Yorkshire Dales, the Lake District and the coastal resorts of Morecambe, Blackpool and Southport, all within a 1 hour drive.

The spa town of Harrogate is also within easy reach, whilst York, the capital city of Yorkshire is some 20 miles further. More locally are the castles of Clitheroe and Skipton, the abbeys of Whalley and Sawley, the settle to Carlisle railway and the Trough of Bowland, a spectacular hill pass to Lancaster, only 25 miles. Not forgetting the ample scope for walking in the surrounding hills. Fishing is also available on the River Ribble and the nearby Stocks Reservoir.
