Following sell-out shows at Edinburgh Festival, Morecambe transfers to the Duchess Theatre in London's West End until January 17th. Following this the play tranfers to it's natural home - Lancaster - for 3 nights only, at the superb Dukes Theatre.
Morecambe commemorates the 25th anniversary of legendary TV entertainer Eric Morecambe's untimely death at the age of 58. From humble beginnings as a child-performer on Morecambe Pier to the glitz and glamour of international stardom as one half of the hugely successful Morecambe and Wise show, Morecambe tells the story of Eric Morecambe's life.
Morecambe follows young Eric's eventful journey from "Lily of Laguna" to "Andre Preview", from tumbleweed to Glenda Jackson. This biographical play is written by Tim Whitnall. The man himself is portrayed by Bob Golding.
