Blackpool World Fireworks Championships 2008

World-renowned pyrotechnical experts will compete for the title of World Firework Champion Blackpool 2008, during the opening month of Blackpool's famous Illuminations.

Over five weekends beginning Sunday 31 August and continuing every Friday in September, international master blasters will set the skies above Blackpool alight in blazes of fire and colour as they showcase their spectacular skills and attempt to rocket their way to victory.

Each week, one of the four international competitors will fire a display set to music, before the winner is announced during a stunning celebratory display in the final week, presented by multi-award winning UK based pyrotechnical experts, Kimbolton Fireworks.
