Offering spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, Blackpool Tower dominates the Blackpool skyline and you can even see North Wales on a clear day. Guided lifts whisk visitors 380 feet above sea level where you can also walk across the 'Walk of Faith' glass floor, if you dare.

Blackpool's three piers offer a good mix of family fun. All three feature theatres, restaurants, shops,arcades and bars, while the Central Pier features the 108-foot high illuminated Big Wheel.

With over 125 rides and attractions plus three spectacular shows, Blackpool Pleasure Beach appeals to every age range. For adults, the white knuckle rides of Valhalla and the Pepsi Max Big One will thrill and excite while younger visitors will enjoy the many gentler rides. New for 2007,the latest white knuckle wave coaster 'Infusion' combines five incredible loops and rolls, a looming lake below and a wicked double line twist with awesome water effects for
maximum thrills and excitement.

Located directly opposite the Pleasure Beach, the indoor waterpark Sandcastle Waterworld is perfect for the family.Two major new attractions recently opened - 'Masterblaster', a white knuckle rollercoaster waterslide totalling 250 metres in length and 'Sidewinder', a vertical drop thrill ride.

Thrill seekers should also head for Camelot Theme Park near Chorley to experience the new ride.'Knightmare', a family thrill rollercoaster full of twists and turns that lasts about two minutes, is one of the world's longest rollercoasters and will be open from late spring.As well as rides for all ages,the theme park offers visitors a chance to brush up their magic skills at 'Merlin's School of Wizardry' and join in the fun and excitement at the twice daily Jousting Tournament.

Home to over 1,500 animals, Blackpool Zoo & Dinosaur Safari takes an active role in the conservation of endangered species.As well as admiring the many rare and exotic animals from all over the world, visitors can walk-through the
Dinosaur Safari which tells the story of these prehistoric animals.

Also ideal for younger folk, Bowland Wild Boar Park cares for many animals including wild boars,cattle, llamas, wallabys, deer, goats and red squirrels.You can take a picturesque walk
amidst this beautiful wooded countryside in the Trough of Bowland.There is even an opportunity to sample home reared Wild Boar meat in the café.

More farmyard favourites are on display at Farmer Parrs Animal World in Fleetwood, where visitors can meet all their favourite farm animals along with a fascinating collection of rare breeds.This attraction also features Fylde Country Life Museum, a large indoor barn and a pottery.

With a mega indoor adventure area, large indoor sand pit, straw mountain, pedal tractor park, adventure playground and large animal barn, Farmer Teds Farm Park near Ormskirk, offers a fun day out for children. Freshly prepared meals are served in Farmer Ted's Grill while the farm shop, 'The Worrall House Farm Larder' sells lots of local farm food including meat, sausages, bacon, home made bread and jams.

Dominating the skyline of the market town of Clitheroe, the Norman castle keep of Clitheroe was built around 1186 by Robert de Lacy to protect the administrative centre of his vast estates. Adjacent to the keep, Clitheroe Castle Museum brings to life the history and geology of the Ribble Valley.A unique sound system provides visitors with fascinating recreations of a Victorian kitchen, cloggers workshop and 18th century leadmine as they explore the museum.

For sporting groups, Ski Rossendale is the largest artificial snowsports centre in the Northwest of England, boasting three separate slopes and a large Ski School slope.

To move into the fast lane, Trax Motor Sports and Paintballing and Paintballing near Preston Riversway is the largest offroad facility in the UK with a variety of circuits purpose built for the activities of Quad Biking, Motor Cross,Karting, 4x4 Driving, Rally Driving, Supermoto and Paintball.
