this picturesque pub in Salwick, between Kirkham and Preston, which is attached to a six-storey windmill (currently lacking its sails, but with a restoration fund in place).

Owned by Master Chef Ron Lambton and with chef Jason Stirling presiding in the kitchen, the food here is all cooked fresh to order. There’s an a la carte based on traditional pub favourites supplemented by more exotic specials. At weekends, choose from a special fish menu with halibut, swordfish, tuna, trout and salmon.

The Windmill was a shell before being taken on by the current owners and they have created a very appealing country pub ambience with rural artefacts adorning the walls. The windmill itself is not accessible as it’s used a living accommodation by the landlord.
