Food and Drink > Where to Eat and Drink in Lancashire > Bashall Barn
This family business is based at the Barnes's working dairy farm. It opened just as foot and mouth hit the Ribble Valley in 2001. Six years’ hard work later, it is one of the larger farm shops in the area and has an excellent and expanding range of local produce, as well as a thriving café. This is a really friendly place, with a warm and genuine welcome - they are rightly proud of their loyal local staff.
Sausages are from the Ribble Valley Meat Company in Ribchester and bacon is supplied by Slacks in Cumbria. There is also Lancashire cheese from Proctor's in Chipping, Bowland water, Exchange coffee and Lancashire tea. About a third of the food for sale is made on-site and features on the café menu. This includes lots of baked items, including brownies, flapjacks and cakes (the lemon and lime drizzle is a particular favourite), as well as popular ready meals, such as cottage and fish pies, casseroles and lasagne. Beer is from the Bowland Brewery next door.
Food for thought...
- "Hamper queen" Leanne will make one up to your requirements - ask and you will not be disappointed - and there is also a good range of quality gifts and local arts and crafts at Bashall Barn.
- Look out for the award-winning range of Bashall Barn ice cream – you can only buy it here. As well as classic favourites, there is a delicious dairy-free raspberry fruit ice.
