The Inn at Whitewell is a characterful traditional rural inn that's part of the Duchy of Lancaster's estate and sits high on the banks of the River Hodder in the heart of the Forest of Bowland National Landscape. The multi-award winning Inn at Whitewell offers atmospheric roaring fires during the colder months and alfresco dining with stunning views during summer.
The Inn has twenty-five en-suite bedrooms which have been individually designed with antique furnishings, paintings and prints; many have open peat fires with and overlook the river. Some bathrooms feature beautifully restored Victorian ‘bathing machines’, canopied baths and showers with huge spray heads.
Antique furniture, prints, paintings and log fires are features of the public rooms. Brilliantly wholesome food is produced by the gifted but modest head chef, Jamie Cadman and his enthusiastic team.
The Inn is perfectly located for a whole host of activities and fishing, walking, tutored wine tastings and more. This can be organised. Just ask at reception.
