Knott End-on-Sea is a village situated on the southern side of Morecambe Bay across the Wyre Estuary from Fleetwood.
The village is the main commercial centre for the Over Wyre area. There are a variety of shops and cafes, and drinking establishments and golf club and a very popular ice cream parlour.
Buses run regularly from Knott End to Blackpool, Garstang and Lancaster and Fleetwood, and there is also a seasonal ferry crossing to Fleetwood.
In Knott End there is a picturesque 5 mile circular walk beginning and ending at The Bourne Arms Pub where you can see wonderful views of the River Wyre, salt mines and seabirds along this stretch of the Wyre Way.There is a sculpture in honour of artist LS Lowry at Knott End-on-Sea.
It celebrates Lowry’s links with the village as depicted in his painting ‘The Jetty at Knott End, near Fleetwood’ and portrays a matchstick man and dog from the artwork. The Lancashire artist often visited Knott End in the 1940s and 1950s and painted a number of seafront scenes. The sculpture is located in the spot next to the jetty where the artist was known to stand and sketch
